Spending two months of self-isolation in a small appartment overlooking the kiel fjord at the baltic sea has made me an ambitious observer of its shipping traffic. This fjord happened to be the mouth of the kiel canal, one of the world‘s most important artificial canals, connecting the baltic and the north sea, being passed by around 30.000 vessels annualy. Following the numereous ships with my camcorder everyday, I started to think of the international trade that they are representing, as shipping still makes up more than 90% of it. […]«⁣

»Seit ich meinen Bachelor an der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar im Oktober 2019 absolvierte reiste ich zwischen Portugal, Frankreich und Deutschland stetig hin und her, verbrachte Zeit mit Freunden, verschiedenen kleinen Projekten und reflektierte meine emotional intensive Bachelorausstellung.⁣
Durch die Pandemie musste ich alle meine Pläne für das Frühjahr und den Sommer streichen und improvisieren, was ich nun mit meiner Zeit machte. Geplant waren Reisen im Ausland und eine Künstlerresidenz in Süd-Korea und andere kleine Projekte. Ohne festen Wohnsitz war wirklich Improvisation gefragt. Erst verbrachte ich 2 unglaublich merkwürdige aber heilsame Monate im Ostseebad Laboe bei Kiel in Quarantäne mit meiner Freundin. Dort entstand auch der Ansatz der neuen Arbeit "Seafarers". Ich filmte, fotografierte, laß, schrieb und genoss den Anbruch des Frühlings an der Ostsee. Eine Zeit der Ruhe und des Aufarbeitens.«⁣
